WEST COAST OF SCOTLAND

The historic West Coast of Scotland boasts mighty mountains, shimmering rocks, and miles of magnificent coastline. Since 1884, the West Highland Line has travelled through the very heart of this breathtaking region. Beginning in Glasgow, where we visit the Museum of Transport, and the Scottish Maritime Museum, we travel through small stations like Garelochhead, Arrochar, Tarbet, Ardlui and Fort William, before terminating at Mallaig.

CENTRAL HIGHLANDS

From the rolling hills of Perthshire to the jagged mountains of Skye, this program takes you on one of Britain's most outstanding scenic railway journeys, visiting the various tourist attractions along the way.

We see glass blowing, whiskey distilling, the Highland Games and beautiful towns and villages, all amidst the splendor of the Beautiful Scottish Highlands. Finally Class 37 diesels carry you along the final stage to Lochalsh.

AROUND THE LAKE DISTRICT

Mountains tumble downward to the sea, forming a mighty backdrop to one of Britain's great railway journeys. Start Carnforth, the rails head north through Oxenholme to Staveley then onto Windermere and its steamboat museum. Continuing on to Cark, we then onto Ulverston, Stan Laurel’s birthplace and home to the Laurel & Hardy Museum, before ending our journey in the beautiful city of Carlisle.
