HOLOCAUST - THERESIENSTADT
Between 1941 and 1945, the little fortress town of Theresienstadt in Czechoslovakia was the transit point for the death camps in the east for thousands of European Jews. The Jewish people deported there from 1941 onwards were lead to believe it was an ‘End Camp’ from where they would not be deported further. They were promised a comfortable and peaceful life in the ‘Reich Home for the Aged’. In reality, the Jews were hoodwinked into signing over their properties and assets to the S.S. before being sent east to the death camps.

HISTORIES OF THE HOLOCAUST
BUCHENWALD 1937-’42
While Weimar, the cultural heart of Germany may have been famous for illustrious men as Bach, Nietzsche and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the unspeakable cruelty and brutality of Buchenwald would make it infamous. Inmates would freeze in -20° temperatures and were worked to death; the guard dogs enjoyed significantly better living conditions. Never an extermination camp like Auschwitz, Buchenwald was a labor camp, but it made every aspect of life within its fences a torture where mistreatment by the guards was not only encouraged, it was compulsory.
