This series, ‘A Newsreel History of the Third Reich’, includes unique footage plundered by Russian Troops in 1945. Compiled as it is from German newsreels which were made under the    influence of Goebbels' Ministry of Propaganda, these are by no means accurate histories but allow unique insight into how the period leading up to and including WW2 was presented to the German people.

Volume 19 deals with the third part of the year 1944. It covers events on all the German fronts including: Home Front - Hitler Youth armed and on parade, one-man torpedo training and  preparation for action, the funeral of Rommel, the call-up of Germany’s home guard; Western Front - the bombardment of southern England from Germany with the new V2 rocket missile; Eastern Front - the retreat from Riga, the recapture of Chelm.
